ad:protocol was set up by Mike Pethig in 2005 while working part-time as the online manager for Sorted.org.nz.

Since then Mike has managed a range of online advertising programmes for other government agencies and not-for-profit organisations. The programmes have covered the full range of online advertising services from online strategy, creative conception, ad design and build, media planning and purchasing, and subsequent evaluation.

So who is Mike Pethig?

Mike has been creating and managing online marketing campaigns and projects in New Zealand and the UK since learning to write HTML in 1996.

Mike’s early work included managing revisions of the Ministry of Education’s TeachNZ website and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund’s Race for Life website. Since returning to NZ in 2002 he’s managed the online marketing and site development of the Retirement Commission’s award-winning Sorted programme.

A passionate online marketer, Mike has been an active member of the Marketing Association’s eMarketing Network executive in the past and runs a bi-monthly online advertising forum in Wellington.
